On this day in 2006, Jamiroquai released Runaway
In 2006 Jamiroquai released 'Runaway'. The track was recorded for inclusion on the High Times album and Matt recalls, "The song was recorded really quickly, Jay recorded some backing vocals on my laptop and those are what you hear on the record! Jay had written two completely different vocals for the song, the one you hear being a last minute one he came up with. The drums, the verse, guitar and some of the bass were also thrown down on the laptop and made it to the end. We recorded the strings at Jay's, all the players stuffed into a small room!"

Love this song! I always play it a few times when Im jetting somewhere, sounds really special from above the clouds. I knew it was recorded in a quickie to close with sony ;) , but never imagined its was a laptop on the go production.
